On the sixth of December, 2019, the breakaway region of Transnistria has withdrawn all claims of sovereignity and have handed back her placard after having signed an agreement with the Moldovan National Government on the formation of the Moldovan Republic.

The signing ceremony took place in the conference room of the OSCE, and multiple delegates chose to leave the room in protest of ending a conflict that has lasted for half a century, but the envy of a few small countries did not stop the representatives of Moldova, Transnistria and The Russian Federation to finally reach a peaceful resolution.

Russia has promised to withdraw all troops from the region, as the foreign ministry deemed to conflict resolved, adding one more strike to their list of successful diplomatic missions.

 

The two separate treaties contain the following points:

Agreement between the National Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Regional Government of Transnistria

 

The parties of this treaty agree upon the following:

  1. The region of Transnistria shall withdraw any past declarations of secession from Moldova, claim of independence or national sovereignty;
  2. The regional government of Transnistria is subject to the decisions made by the National Government of Moldova;
  • The regional government of Transnistria may not interfere with decisions made by the National Government of Moldova in regard to foreign policy and national security;
  1. Moldovan citizens residing in the region of Transnistria have the same constitutional rights as all other Moldovan citizens;
  2. In addition to their other constitutional rights, Moldovan citizens residing in the region of Transnistria may elect a special representative to the National Government of Moldova,
    1. The election process of said representative is decided by the regional government of Transnistria,
    2. The special representative shall hold a special right of veto in all executive and legislative bodies of the National Government of Moldova;
  3. Moldova and the region of Transnistria shall enter into a federation of states, namely the Moldovan Federation;
  • The Moldovan Federation shall hold a new parliamentary election following the signing of this treaty;
  • The new parliament shall draft a new resolution for the Moldovan Federation, based on the guide of this treaty;
  1. The Moldovan Federation shall inherit all national symbols of the Republic of Moldova;
  2. Upon signing this treaty, all past decisions made in regard to foreign policy by the regional government of Transnistria shall be considered null and void.

Agreement between the Moldovan Federation and the Russian Federation

 

The parties of this treaty agree upon the following:

  1. The past decision of the regional government of Transnistria to allow personnel of the armed forces of the Russian Federation inside the borders of the region of Transnistria is now considered null and void;
  2. All personnel of the armed forces of the Russian Federation shall leave the territory of the Moldovan Federation within 90 days of the signing of this treaty;
  • All personnel of the armed forces of the Russian Federation who fail to leave the territory of the Moldovan Federation will be charged with desertion and shall be brought to justice in the Russian Federation;
  1. The regional government of Transnistria shall withdraw all claims of government ownership of Tiraspoltransgas and Sheriff LLC.
